Helllo everyone that's in this forum,
I need some input on how I can bring my credit score up after being behind one or more times on my credit cards and creditors due to my physical health. I had back surgery several years ago and was out of work for several years and made my way back to work 2008. I worked for 5-6 months and had to leave my job(mental health social worker) due to severe back pain. I've been out of work for afew months before I was determine to go back regardless of my pain because I was in the process of closing on my home but had to put home on hold because the pain got so bad that I could not bare it any longer. Yes I was put on pain pills but could not take medication and work because of the side effect(s) I had from them. But keep in mind I still was pressing my way with JESUS HELP!!! to work, so I sent out several resumes to different agencies in my profession and received several interviews and got the jobs. However, I went to work on these jobs at different time frames and had to resign less than one week being on those jobs because of back pain. Presently, I have went through 3-4 jobs less than 1 month and now I feel that I am fighting a losing battle with staying on a job. Currently, I am waiting on a decision from the disability dept. but in the mean time, I am behind 1-2 months on all my bills, I contacted the creditors trying to explain what's going on and they did all they could do to assist but still no income to pay bills. I had good credit before the hardship, now my credit is messed up including my FICO SCORE. I am going back to work in a week or 2, this time I am going to try take the medicine before I go to work because I need an income. Oh I forgot, I do have credit protection on some accounts but not all, but those I don't are behind. Will someone please give me some advice or input on how I can get my credit/score back in good standing after getting behind more than one time.
For the back pain i recommend Trevinol, an enzyme treatment. It's a little pricey but it comes with none of the side effects of anything else they will give you. Takes a week or two to kick in, so you may need to temporarily keep using whatever they gave you , less and less, while the Trevinol kicks in. You can find it on Amazon
As far as the credit as soon as your income situation improves, try to get caught up on your payments, once you do that you can eventually send goodwill letters to your creditors, explaining the medical issues; might help to include a copy of a letter from a doctor
Well, I'm not a doctor so I can't help with your pain but if you could provide a little more information about your debts, I'm sure that you will receive some excellent suggestions here. For example, which accounts are in arrears? What is their balance? How far behind are you? How much of your future income do you expect to have to take care of these debts? When you go to work, will your credit insurance end and then those debts too will be yours to pay? There will be other questions but if you will start with these, we may be able to help you. Remember the old joke; "How do you eat an elephant? . . . . One bite at a time". That is the way to approach this crisis and there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Hopefully it's not a train.
Good luck
