Does anybody know if American Express would give you a chance for one of their cards if you happen to become a millionaire a few short years out of bankruptcy through entrepreneurship or otherwise?
For example say I'm 5 years out of BK7 with an experian score of low 700 and perfect credit history since the BK7, would they grant me like a Gold card or even a Centurion card given my millionaire status despite a BK7 on my report? Ya know, money talks type of deal? ![]()
Its just a question I've been wanting to ponder ![]()

Just my opinion --- you know you have to be invited for the Centurion Card - i think the sign up cost is around $10K and I believe you have to charge a minimum on that card every year. My boss has this card, you really don't get much for $10 K. (you get really nice marketing catalogs however and a half way decent travel service) I'd rather take the $10 K and invest it elsewhere. Think of all the things you can buy with $10K!!
Money does talk, but you're talking to a big bank that doesn't like BK's period. Unless you personally know an exec at AMEX who could override it, good luck. I don't see this happening otherwise.
I have read if you ever BK'd AMEX, one is blacklisted for life. If you have a CO with AMEX, you can sign up for their Oasis program, AMEX's jail, make your payments that you once owed and then you get of their jail. And lastly, if you have a BK showing on your reports, even if you didn't IIB , no matter how old, forget it. You have no shot - as this is the case with most prime banks. They are one tough cookie!!

If through Bk or whatever you have ever caused AmEx a financial loss, you are on their blacklist forever.
But I do think I have seen several instances of people with a BK reporting on their CR get approved for AmEx.
