DOFD DATE CHANGED ON CHARGE OFF

Hello everybody I am new to the forums, looking forward to interacting with most of you. I need help advise regarding the following.

On June 2018 I pulled my annual credit report for Equifax in which I had a charge off reporting the following information:
Credit Limit: $2570
DATE OF FIRST DELIQUENCY: Jun 1, 2012
Date Opened: Dec 23 2009
Date of Last Payment; Sep 1, 2012
Deliquency First Reported: Jun , 2013.

Today June 2019 I pulled my annual credit report from Equifax with the following stats: (I did notice the account dropped roughly on April 2019 and was re added on May 2019.)

Credit Limit: $900
DATE OF FIRST DELIQUENCY: Sep 1, 2012
Date Opened: Decembee 23, 2009
Date of Last Payment: Sep 1, 2012
Deliquency First Reported: May 1, 2019

Note: Charge off account is still with original creditor (La Curacao).

My question is I was under the impression the DOFD(Date of first deliquency) should never change? Based on this it appears to me they are not following FCRA rules. Can someone educate me on this and what steps I should be taken? I'm leaning to disputing it based in inaccurate information with DOFD.

DOFD, Credit Limit, and Deliquency First Reported Date changed. Also notice Payment History was removed/not available.

Thank you for your assistance!

Re: DOFD DATE CHANGED ON CHARGE OFF

It is certainly permissible to change the reported DOFD if it is subsequently determined that the prior reporting was inaccurate.

FCRA 623(a)(2) requires correction/update of any reporting if it is found to have been inaccurate.

What is improper is to change the reported DOFD to another date that does not reflect the actual date of first delinquency in the chain of consecutive delinquency that led to the charge-off.

The issue is thus not that they have changed the reported DOFD, but rather whether the new DOFD is accurate.

If you have records showing when you first became delinquent, and that you thereafer remained delinquent up to the taking of the charge-off, you can file a dispute with the CRA contesting the accuracy of the DOFD.
