Delete old Accounts but leave the oldest?

Howdy -

I've got the red flag on my number of accounts (46 on experian, 38 on equifax and 37 on TU).  I've read that you shouldn't have accounts removed becuase the length of your credit history will go down, but what if I leave the oldest account and ask to have all other accounts over 10 years removed?  If I do that, I should have the best of both worlds - the same length of credit (15 years) and remove the "too many accounts" ding.  Am I missing somthing here?

THANKS!!

1. Disputing  accurate information not allowed here
2. The history is helping
2. No proof of this "Flag" actually affecting your  score.

Re: Delete old Accounts but leave the oldest?

There helping more than hurting most likely regardless of flag. I so far haven't seen a score change for over 29 accounts either. Think it's just a warning. That's all going to change I bet with FICO 08 next release soon. Leave em. Accounts will fall off with time anyway.
