Boo-hoo!!!!  I guess I was thinking I was ready to move on and actually get a credit card.  I guess not.  I looked at the site someone referred to check what score needed for a Walmart card.  My EQ score is 631 but I do have that pesky C/O I've mentioned before.  One satisfied judgement and one OLD unpaid collection.  Several good, but closed, accounts and a mortgage with a 30 day late over a year and a half ago.  Wahhh.  Any other thoughts on something I can get to help reestablish?  Oh, the reasons for denial were....LACK OF REVOLVING ACCOUNT INFORMATION
DELINQUENCY ADVERSE PUBLIC RECORD OR COLLECTION
TOO FEW ACCOUNTS CURRENTLY PAID AS AGREED .  Boo-Hoo-Hoo.

Re: Denied

Seems like they are saying you don't have any current revolvings with which they can gauge whether you're creditworthy or not.

You may want to start with a secured CC.

Also give one of the Juniper Bank cards a try. They pull TU and if your over 600 you have a decent shot at getting approved.

Re: Denied

I was afraid someone was going to say that (secured card).  I know that secured cards are very good to help establish credit worthiness but I just have a thing about giving someone my money so I can use their services and give them more money.  BUT... I've worked very hard to get my scores even this high.  My EQ has gone up 29 points in just a few weeks.  I am just disappointed and just thought 631 was enough.  Thanks for the reply.

Re: Denied

CCCU isn't secured.  Hubby's EX was 561 ~ they only pull EX.  He also had a FC and Repo in the last 3 years.  They asked for and explanation on the FC and Repo, wanted copy of 2 recent paycheck stubs, copy of one utility bill and a list of previous residences.  DH applied early last week and we were approved for a $500 TL yesterday ~ and we only asked for $300.  Interest rate is 10.9 with no APR for first 6 months.  Oh ~ and NO ANNUAL FEE!

Re: Denied

I have no idea what my other two scores are.  TC says TU 580 and EX 552.  Maybe I am just too happy too soon.  It's been a LONG TIME since any  of my scores were over 600, so I figured, I'd try.

Wait a minute now, don't get discouraged, like we're saying on here, try CCCU first and then if you can't get them either, then you go secured.  And remember, a secured card is just a means to an end.  I agree with you, it stinks to have to give someone your money to use your money.  You may know you're creditworthy, but all the powers that be see is what's attached to your SSN.  So it's totally worth it, if you have no other options.

So stop, take a second, exhale....wooosah!!  And go again.  Don't let this thing beat you now. Remember you're not the system's b%^ch, the system is your b%^ch!!  Better act like you knowSmiley Wink

This credit repair stuff is like a game of chess..strategy and trying to figure out what your opponent's next move will be.  Hopefully I'm better at this than actual chess lol
