Dentist is ignoring my letters now!

A $150 dentist bill was turned over to a CA from my dentist last year.  I didnt know my insurance did not pay it.  I sent a PFD to my dentist. They sent me an invoice?  So i called and the office manager said if you pay I will call tomorrow and have it deleted.  So I said can I please get a letter stating this she said no.  So i sent another letter to the dentist explaining my situation  and they ignored me this time.

What should i do now?
Also, Can the original creditor have it deleted from your reports even though a CA owns it now?

If they still own the debt then they can pull it back from the CA and tell them to delete it. You may have to DV the CA to get them to do it as they don't like to listen to anyone.

I don't think I can DV because its within my SOL Smiley Sad

Do you think I should trust the office manager and pay it for a delete without a letter ?

I meant you might have to DV the CA after you pay the OC.

You can DV anytime, the reason for checking SOL is because if you DV and it is within SOL, if they validate, they may follow up with a summons if you wake them up.

I'd have the office manager clarify that they are going to tell the CA to delete and not just update it with a paid status of a 0 balance.

Your only other option, if they wont give it to you in writing, is trying a PFD with the CA. But in my opinion it is always better to deal with OC.

I can't remember who it was, but someone had a hospital bill and they wouldn't give her anything in writing. They asked to speak with the two supervisors above her who assured her it would be deleted and she paid and it was deleted. I think maybe Lady_Scarlet, but not sure.

It is your call whether to trust or not.

Re: Dentist is ignoring my letters now!

Thank you sidewinder.  I think i am going to just pay it with the CO.  Because when I go for a loan they are going to tell me I have to pay it anyways.  The CA is absolutly a jerk.  OMG he is so mean!!!  I know the CA wont accept a PFD.
