Hello,
Does anyone know what to do with a derogatory item not being removed from one CRA but removed from the other two? I recently noticed that a derogatory item has been removed in my credit reports except Equifax. It would be nice that I have it removed completely so I can finally have a great report. Should I dispute this item or should I call the OC?
Thanks
Was the removal the result of a voluntary deletion, or did it result from a finding in a dispute that it could not be verified?
A creditor or business can choose to report to only one or two CRAs, and not all three.
They can similarly choose to delete their prior reporting with one or more CRAs.
There is no requirement that they delete with all CRAs if they choose to delete with only one or two.
Perhaps they are simplifying need for future updates with one or more CRAs, or wish to simply avoid any disputes with those agencies.
There is no basis for a dispute.
You can call the creditor any inquire as to whether they will also voluntarily delete prior reporting, but it is solely at their discretion.
