Re: Did I mention that I DESPISE Experian

Count me in for hating experian. Everything has been a chore with them. They've let accounts get reinserted and failed to send the notification within 5 business days on a few occasions. They have also changed my birthday month 2x. They have verified accounts that were completely false and after contacting the CA myself, I easily had it removed because even they noted it was wrong and shouldn't be there. I mean, how many times can you call a CA and have them tell you they have no reason for this account being on your credit report and then easily getting it removed....tried to dispute same account through Experian and it comes back verified. They are awful, inaccurate, stubborn and rude. Am I forgetting anything?

I don't like them either. I'm like the other poster who wants my report to be 100% accurate. The refuse to update my previous names, previous addresses, employment, etc. TU and EQ did that fairly quickly.

That is one heck of a commute. The gas prices must be killing you!

One of the mods got two hards when apping Discover because of this. EX kept showing his old address as current, so Discover also did a hard on TU to verify.

I too can be included in that double hard pull for Discover, for the same exact reason!

I was waiting for you to notice the siggy.  Hehe.

Re: Did I mention that I DESPISE Experian

Seems like every time you update something with EX, something else gets changed along with it. I deleted a bunch of old addresses via online, and they "updated" my current address with an old address! Smiley Sad Had to mail them to get it changed back to the correct current address, along with proof via utility bill and driver's license.

I got tired of looking at a couple closed accts that were lost/stolen cc entries (still have the actual cc accounts open...just got new card/numbers), so disputed them online as "yes. they're mine, but duplicate account entries." They deleted one of the entries, but verified the other one and updated it as open! Completely stoooopid, they are. (some Yoda speak there)

On the plus side, the deletion on Experian flowed through to TU and EQ, and both removed the account in a few days as well. That good ole central database they all share info on, that was discussed on that "other" board, definitely is alive and kicking. Smiley Happy

Just a friendly reminder to all that disputing correct information, no matter how irritating its presence might be, is a violation of forum TOS, etc.

Credit Repair Discussion Guidelines

By all means, if there is inaccurate info on your reports, or info that shouldn't be there in the first place, then do go in with both guns blazing.

edit: just can't spell anything correctly today, apparently Smiley Sad

That's nice.

Experian is known for verifying inaccurate information, however. If you're a victim of fraud, or someone pulled a LexisNexis on your, and your OC and the courthouse and your CA are on your side........ why isn't Experian?

And I absolutely agree. I would love to see some sort of official acknowledgement of the callous disregard shown by the CRA's to consumers, leading to effective legislation and oversight holding them accountable.

Nail them to the wall, and I'll be happy to pass along boxes of nails.

Nevertheless, the forums have guidelines which have to be followed. If we allowed discussion and advocacy of anything-goes methods, we would fall into the category of Credit Repair Organizations, and that would put the forums under the CROA. Terms of Service means just that, terms of service.
