Difference in credit card terms - flexible spending account?

On the various CRA’s and models, my BB&T card is treated and termed different than the others. On Experian F8, all my other cards are called out as “Credit card - Revolving Terms. The BB&T card is just coded as “Credit Card”. On Vantage Score, the others are called out as simply “Credit Card” and the BB&T card is called out as “Flexible Spending Credit Card”. I even got a boost on Vantage 3.0 in Account Diversity for being treated as a different kind of account. Besides terminology, is there is a real difference?

Re: Difference in credit card terms - flexible spending account?

It effectively means that you don't have a true hard CL on the card; if you were to make a purchase that would technically put you at over 100% utilization (how much over depends on the issuer and your usage/payment history with that issuer) it could be approved.   This is pretty much how a revolver issued by AMEX works but off the top of my head I'd guess that your particular card is a Visa Signature.

You'd have to understand the requirements related to your specific card but issuers can require that the overage in its entirety along with the normal mininum payment all be paid down before the current billing cycle closes else there's an additional fee assessed.
