Digging deep

As I'm reading over past and present messages I'm getting more of a feel on what should and shouldn't be on my reports.

I looked through my reports and found two auto loan items that aren't reported exactly correctly, though neither of them are counting as being "open" currently.

The first is an auto loan I considered last year as I was selling my car (my beloved '03 Cobra went by the wayside for economic prosperity). I set up financing on a used vehicle but never went through with it. How it works at my CU is that I request an amount for a vehicle, they do an inquiry then approve/deny. Then I have 30 days to get the vehicle or the process must start again. I never completed the loan transaction. Even though it isn't being counted as an open account it IS being counted as one of the reasons that negatively impacts my score "You opened an account 1 year, 4 months ago). Should I consider writing to the CU and asking them to report this account as never being actually opened, since it wasn't?

The second was the loan for the aforementioned Cobra. It isn't being counted as an open account, but shows in the details as "Account is open", is this normal for vehicle loans? Should it say "closed"?

Re: Digging deep

With your personal information displayed like that, you might want to consider removing your name from your post.

When ID theft scams get more intricate in 5 years, this info might prove valuable to some scammer.

Re: Digging deep

Point taken (and thanks, mod!), I pulled the name of the institutions but didn't think of the "last four".

Now, Bump for some guidance :-)
