I've been trying to clean up my credit report for years. I've been sick and fell way behind on stuff. Now I'm doing much better, paid all my debts off. I've earned two platinum credit cards, which I pay on time religiously! But I still have negative stuff on my reports that are 4, 5 even 10 years old. How long must I be punished...and that's what it feels like! My score now is a measely 636! I have no judgements, bankruptcies, liens...nothing like that..just OLD credit card debt..It's like, come on people, what gives??
Any advice you can give me to try to wipe the slate a little cleaner..please let me know. I've written letters, called the collections and the businesses (ie: Sears, etc.) No go..
