Disappearing PLOC

I have a PLOC with RBC Bank which I use as a backstop for my checking account to ensure no bills or checks ever bounce. The account is in good standing and sometimes has a temporary balance, if I pay a big bill and the amount goes out before payroll I will use this to cover the gap. I have had this I think about nine months now.

For the first six months I had it, this never showed on my report. A couple of months ago it finally appeared which was great because it improved my utilization and is slightly older than most of my accounts.

Well, today it is gone! Disappeared from my EQ report like it was never there. In reality it is in good standing I even had a small balance on it until last night when payroll came through and I paid it down.

Has anyone seen this before?

My guess is the bank is only sporadically reporting on this account but I'm not sure why it would vanish like that.

Call the bank.

They most likely decided to discontinue reporting, and deleted all prior reporting.

Re: Disappearing PLOC

Interestingly it had no impact on my score when it disappeared, and I think I know why.

The account was 8 months old when it vanished from my report. My AAoA is also currently 8 months. So the removal of this account had no impact on my AAoA, it was 8 months with this account and it is still 8 months without it.

This proves that the number of accounts doesn't matter to FICO. At least, going from 6 to 7 doesn't matter. It may matter that you have a new account, but I still have other newer accounts. And we know AAoA matters. And it may matter if you go from 2 to 3 or even 3 to 4, thick vs thin.

But other than things like that the actual number of accounts isn't a factor.
