To be honest Bank of America, Capital One and Chase are terrible when it comes to authorized users to access their accounts and submit payments, it does not protect the authorized users from card holders from defaulting on their payments and paying the minimum payments.
What do you mean by that?
AU isn't responsible for payments, that's an arrangement between cardholder and whomever they added.
AU can elect to be removed at any time for any reason.
AU is not under any obligation to pay in full even though Amex allows separate log in. They don't have to pay a peny if they don't want to because they aren't legally obligated to, that feature is provided as convenience, not some legally binding agreement.
The only person who is responsible for the account is primary card holder.

I did edit the post and I totally spaced out when it comes to AU legal responsibilties, thank you for pointing it out. Citibank allows sperate log in also.
Edit or not, AU is still not responsible for payments.
Separate log in is nice and convenient, but not binding in any way, it's more or less cosmetics.
Easiest solution, dont add AUs unless you're willing to pay for whatever they charge. If they don't pay, and you don't pay, you're the only one out of money and with negative.
