Discover Scorecard unavilable new account

Tried checking my scorecard through Discover after activating my card. Got "unavailable" with a myriad of possible reasons. I've seen other people complain that Disco doesn't give you this service if you don't have posted transactions during statement periods, which is totally understandable. But is this normal for a brand new account? I would think they would be trying to show off for the new customer, especially with their fancy packaging they send the card in.

Do I have to wait until first statement cuts with posted transactions? Or did something get messed up and I _should_ be able to see the scorecard?

Other details:
I was already using their free score service prior to app'ing the card.
They modified my account address between when I App'd and when I got the card, small things like slightly different abbreviation of Blvd

Give it a little time to populate, if it does'nt call a  Disco rep.

Re: Discover Scorecard unavilable new account

I guess since I technically already got a free score this month from their non-member service maybe I can't get a second one?

Guess I'll wait and see, I can be pretty impatient sometimes lol

It's a new card.  It just takes a while to populate a score (this has been my experience with every creditor I have that offers a FICO)-  Disco pulls around the statement cut date. My first score populated a day before my 1st statement cut and it's been the same every month after.  I've seen others report that their score updates on or a day or two after the statement cut date.   I'm not sure about a score not populating if you have no activity for one month -- i've always had some sort of activity.

It's a different FICO score.  From what I remember, the free score for non-members is Experian.  I haven't looked at it in a while, as I've forgotten my password. . So I could be wrong.  The FICO score that comes with your credit card is TransUnion.  Mine came a day or so before my very first statement cut.

Open Credit Cards:
Green Dot Primor Secured (5/18) - $450 CL (CLOSED 2/2020)
Capital One Platinum (8/18) PC to Quicksilver (9/19) - $3800 CL
Capital One QuicksilverOne (3/19) - $4800 CL
Merrick Bank DYL VISA - No AF (6/19) - $1400 CL
Discover it Cash Back (9/19) - $2800 CL
Amazon Prime Store Card (4/20) - $10,000 CL
NFCU cashRewards (4/20) - $4500 CL
BB&T Spectrum Cash Rewards (5/20) - $3500 CL
Navy Federal More Rewards American Express® Card (3/21) - $9700 SL - at 9.65 %.
Experian FICO Score - 8/2018: 528

Experian FICO 8 Score - 9/2022 - 720
Equifax FICO 8 score 2/2022- 692
TransUnion FICO 8 score 10/2022 - 728

Yes, you're correct.   Disco Scorecard available for all is EX FICO 8.   Disco Scorecard available only to account holders is TU FICO 8.

So I can keep using the EX8 version and also get the TU8 version from my account? Is there any reason behind them offering the two this way?

Yes. You can obtain both scores by logging into each separately.  I'm sure there's a business reason for offering both - but that would be unknown to us - we can only speculate - which is, honestly, kinda pointless.

My Experience

I recently got a DiscoverIt card about 2 months ago. Once I created my account (before I used the card) I browsed through it and my scorecard reflected my score and information from TU.

One thing to Note is they were already on my credit report showing a 0 balance 2 weeks after approval.

I already had a non-member Scorecard account which showed my Experian Fico. I don't know why they do them like that but considered it as a bonus.

Better 2 different CRA Fico scores than the same one twice.
