I have a question. I recently just became a Discover It card member. I did the preapproval and was preapproved for the IT card. I went ahead with the application at the beginning of June, and I had to do identity verification over the phone with a cyber security analysis and then the 4506 form with Equifax verification services. I was eventually approved over the phone after calling once a week to get an update. For some reason, Equifax was taking a bit longer than usual. Out of curiosity, I did the preapproval again and was preapproved again for the it card. I went ahead with the application process; I didn't trigger identity verification this time. It did say to look out for an email from Equifax verification services. I also have a pretty active savings and checking account with Discover, so what should I expect this time?

you can only get 1 card per year from Discover, so I imagine it will be denied.
I imaigne the pre-approval didn't have time to update with your new account with the tax form reporting delay
I still haven't received the e-mail from Equifax verification. Last time, it did take them about a day or two to e-mail me. Do you think I should let it be and go through the process 4506, etc., or even if I do all that, it's an automatic decline after processing from their system? Come August 30th, my IT account will be two months old.
