Dispute Letter

I ran my credit report for the first time in a long time and found some mistakes.  Primarily TU still reporting a few collections as unpaid when EF shows it as paid.  I am sending a letter to TU.  How should I send it?  FedEx, Certified Mail, Delivery Confirmation etc?  Thanks for any advice.

Re: Dispute Letter

Welcome to my fico,  since I started to clean up my report in August any correspondence with the bureaus I've done with certified mail in order for me to keep track of when they received my disputes.

Well hopefully you save your proof of payment to the CAs.  If so, I would blanket dispute the tradeline as incorrect.  Since you've paid them, it's reduces the chances that the CA will respond.  If they don't respond TU will have to delete.  In terms of credit scoring, it makes no difference, paid collections score the same as unpaid collections.  If anything, if you had the accounts updated to paid, you would probably get a score drop because of new activity on collection accounts. But beyond that, send it with something that verifies delivery, whether it's certified mail, tracking, etc.
