Re: Disputed information still showing

Thanks sidewinder. That sets my mind at ease a bit, since I didn't dispute anything that would cause them to be deleted (I hope/think).

Apologies to OP for thread-jacking.

Not to worry you, but if the creditor decides not to respond to the dispute, the whole account will be deleted.

However, when you dispute just the lates, I don't know if only the lates are removed from scoring or the whole account. I *think* it is the whole account.

Yes, it is the whole account that is removed from scoring.

Re: Disputed information still showing

When I look at the FICO Standard report it tells me what my FICO score is with Transunion.  If you follow the link at the bottom of the page that says they will help you dispute, it says you need a copy of your Equifax credit report.  I don't get it.

That is odd. I tried to find where it might show that, but I don't have that particular subscription, so mine is different.

To be honest, I wouldn't worry about that. You can't dispute through this website anyhow. All it does is ask what is wrong and ask for your comments and then generates you a letter to print out and mail in.

I disputed some items with Transunion and got all but one item changed or removed.  They sent me an updated credit report and I thought all was well.  I signed up for FICO Standard Transunion this morning to see if my FICO score had chaged at all and much to my surprise, my score is lower now and all the accounts I thought were taken care of (and are missing or changed on my new report from them) are still showing as collections.  Any idea why this would be?  It also says to dispute on the web site I need a copy of Equifax's report.  This makes no sense to me!

This is exactly the same problem I am having with myFico Equifax.  They have not updated their records - it's been over 30 days since I got my Equifax dispute results report  back which shows totally different information.    I just pulled a new fico report and it is still reporting the old/wrong info.

I plan on calling myFico today to see when they will correct the report.  I received an email back from them to call regarding this problem/reporting glitch.

Re: Disputed information still showing

Well I am glad that I am not going crazy!  I got a reply from the support center asking me to scan in my report I got in the mail from Transunion, so they can look at it and try to figure out what the problem is.  I don't know if this is a good idea or not.  Please let me know if you find anything out today.  It doesn't seem right that they should have this "glitch" in their system when we are paying for up to the minute correct information.

Re: Disputed information still showing

That's crazy..I though my fico was basically a snap shot of whatever your CRA report was at that exact time.. I wonder how long this glitch has been going on for?

I had been puling Experian a few days after i did a dispute to see if I got a score drop or raise but my score stayed exactly the same ...which I thought odd but as I don't claim to understand fico scoring I just figured it obviously made no difference.

Sadly there just seems to be more and more fico glitchs turning up ...

This should be safe to do. There is some sort of ongoing problem with how TU reports show on myFICO, and it sounds like tech support wants to compare a detailed report to see how the info is tracking. If that makes any sense. Smiley Tongue

The data from the full CRA report isn't moved over to a myFICO report by hand; it's done automatically. The data fields need to be mapped out correctly to have data track properly to wind up in the right place, and the info itself needs to be coded correctly for the same reason.

My TU FICO util has been showing as way too high for months now, and no one can figure out why it's doing this, when it's perfect on the EQ FICO report. Obviously the data isn't moving properly from one report to the other.
