Equifax Glitch?

Hi all,

So I pulled my annual free TU and EX reports and everything seems in order.

When I tried pulling Equifax, I didn't recognize none of the questions/answers they chose for verification. I chose "none of the above" for all 3 questions. None of the items they listed are mine at all, a mortgage loan in 2013? I just bought a house in Jan2015, a bank account? I only have chase since it was wamu.

When I check my Equifax on Credit Karma, all my stuff is there and accurate. Now I have to send Equifax a bunch of stuff - my pays run with SSN, a utility bill with my name, DL, house deed with my name.

Is this a glitch by Equifax? Anyone with the same issue or similar?  Just a checked my saved pdf Equifax report from 2014 and all is accurate.

Thanks

Re: Equifax Glitch?

Hi there,

I am having the same issue, everytime I try to get my Equifax credit report it gives answers that don't apply to me so I checked none of the above. I had no problem getting my husbands for him. Whats the deal, Is there another way to get the report online instead of having to go through us mail? Thanks

Re: Equifax Glitch?

Must be a glitch for sure!  Have you tried logging in to Credit Karma? if everything is in order there and you can recognize what's in there, then EQ needs to fix that.  Im not going to send all those documents they asked for in the mail to get my report.

Re: Equifax Glitch?

It's not a error.

When they generate the security questions, sometimes... it pulls information from relatives, and people associated with your address.

Experian & Equifax, both asked a car "I owned" that actually belonged to my mom. Along with a mortgage on a home purchase from 1992 (my parents).

If you chose "none of the above" the answer is marked wrong.

So. I just answer, the questions to what sounds relevant, to what I know. It's upsetting that they can't find data that belongs to me, but, whatever.

Re: Equifax Glitch?

Well I did check Credit Karma and got the info that way, none of the questions on equifax are related to anyone I know and I know what the answers would be if it pertained to my spouse. My atty told me to try everyday to see but the main thing is that I got the info from ckarma.

This happened to me about 10 months ago.  Call and they will fix it.  You should be able to verify yourself over the phone.  I did and all was okay.
