Not sure when this changed. Been fighting some Verizon fraud hard pulls for 6 months and another this last weekend. After fighting with Verizon for so long I decided to verbally abuse Equifax for a while and saw that they have a new dispute system in place. No word on how well it works but it's nice to see it actually in place after being behind the others for so long. Here's hoping!

Trying to "Verbally abuse" an employee of another company isnt exactly a way of going about it as it puts you in a darker spot. If you have HP that you didnt authorized, what you shouldve done is file a police report and sent it to both verizon and the CRA where the HP shown up and it would proceed from there. You would also want to put a fraud alert on your CRA if this is a matter of ID fraud. If its nothing like that and verzion decided to do a HP on your report, you would want to think about why its there. Did you sign up for a new plan, upgrade a phone (eg doing a contract or one of their monthly plans to pay off the phone), or did you sign up for any new service like home phone, fios, or anything that request an ssn to identify you and to check your consumer report? If so, then you pretty much authorized them to do a HP (make sure to read the fine print). Prepaid services isnt included in that though (though they wont ask for that much info). If that isnt the case its best to do it properly so you can see real results, including to escalate it to the FTC, CFPB, etc., with your police report.
