My wife joined MyFico and paid for a 3 bureau report. Equifax and TU came back with a report showing nothing but an AU card and four medical collections. Experian said no report on file. MyFico refunded the Experian portion of the three bureau file.
Can anyone shed some light on this? What does it mean? Is it bad? Should we try to do anything about it?
She apped for three cards (a few weeks ago) and got them aooroved with Discover; BOFA and USAA. Will these cards reporting open an Experian file? She has not had any credit for the past fifteen years.
The three credit cards she apped for and was approved report to all three bureaus. I would suggest you goto annualcreditreports.com and pull her credit report from Experian from there and see what they do have on file if anything.
My recommendation is to sit back, relax, use some CC's, and PIF.
The cards your wife applied for have to be delivered and take about a cycle to report as open. The file will be updated at all three bureau's in about 30-45 days. Those accounts have a habit of reporting to all three automaticly as well.
Since she has not had a credit card for 15 years any old history is long gone. It has been deleted about 5 years ago. She is starting new and will not have a score for 6 months or so. Those three lenders are big fans of giving chances for new accounts so enjoy what they give you.
Last but not least medical collections are no longer legally reportable. You can safely dispute each one. I hope you know where that AU card is because if you have no control over it then the scores can be all over the place.
