FICO Score affects Homeowner's Insurance premium

I just received a Homeowner's Insurance policy renewal with my Insurance Company that I've used for five years. In the renewal they stated I was not receiving the lowest rate because:  Based on the information in consumer reports, including credit-based insurance score, you are not receiving our lowest premium.

I called the insurance company and they informed me that to receive the lowest premium the FICO score must be above 803!  I realize they can do anything they darn well please, but all information I've read to date indicated that a credit score above 760 was considered excellent.

BTW: My FICO score is 796. Guess I'm a credit risk.

I would look for another ins.company. They do not all pull scores.

Most insurance companies make a credit inquiry through ChoicePoint.  ChoicePoint obtain its data from Equifax.
