Hi All.
I recently had an issue with a file split (I think anyways) which I think was due to an address issue (amex has my Apt # as address line 2 which isn't reported on EQ). When I did a soft pull with credit karma, it updated my EQ file to include the Apt # in address line 1 and my previous revolving acounts disappeared. Under my current report, I can see the CK soft pull as the first inquiry.
I submitted a dispute to update my address as reported by amex and it was done today. However, there isn't any information within dispute. It only shows this:
>>> We have reviewed the current address. The results are: -
>>> We have reviewed the identification information. The results are: -
I noticed on the dispute pdf, the mailing address at the top was the correct one. So this leads to my questions:
1. Do you guys think this is a file split?
2. Has the dispute been successful given the mailing address at the top? If so, how long might it take to update?
3. If the address change is successful, would this potentially merge my files back together?
Pull your 3 CRA reports from freecreditreport.com. Go over them and see if theres any mistakes between the 3. Thats is if there is only 1 file on EQ. Yes even 1 number can mess things up. I had a split with EQ over my middle initial.
