Final Baddie - Paid CO

I have one final baddie on my report, a paid CO from Discover. It was scheduled to come off of TU 6/22 but I got it removed in February. However EX and EQ doesn't show a date of removal when I grab the reports from annual credit report site. I called EX asking for date of removal and after being transferred 4 times, a US based rep stated 8/22 for removal. I haven't even tried calling EQ.

Besides being patient and waiting for it to fall off, any way I can get this removed ASAP? Like TU did via EE I am so close to clean reports and it's driving me mad Smiley Sad

Re: Final Baddie - Paid CO

Keep in mind that early exclusion is a completely discretionary action by the CRAs - there is no legal requirement that they do it and each of the bureaus has their own set of guidelines that they follow when considering requests.

Transunion historically will consider EE 6 months before the scheduled purge date.  However, with Experian the usual potential window opens up 3 months before the scheduled purge date and with Equifax it's 2 months.  That doesn't mean you can't ask once a month, just keep your expectations in check and be pleasantly surprised if the request is honored.

If you look carefully at your reports you should be able to see the date of first delinquency related to the chargeoff - the theoretical deletion date should be 7 years after that date.

Appreciate the reply ColdFusion. I guess I knew all of this already. I just wanted to get out my frustration/impatience lol Luckily I live in NYC so a paid CO can be removed 5 years from DOFD as long as it's paid. If not paid, then it stays for the full 7 years. I should be thankful I don't have to wait another 2 years for this to come off but waiting a few months is like dangling candy in my face but can't quite get to it. Smiley Happy

I will call EX in April and ask politely. Will continue monthly until August. I'll leave EQ alone.
