Hi all I qualified for finger hut fresh start.. Today I purchased a heater for 51.99$(Was told by people here to buy something I'd use) then i paid the 14.99$ shipping(alot of money in my opinion but what can ya do; you cant use a freeshipping coupon with freshstart)
Okay so my total was 66.98 I paid the 30$ downpayment
I now owe $36.98
It says to complete the program I will have to pay off in 6 monthly payments ![]()
Can I just make 6 payments over the course of 3 weeks and they still count it as 6 monthly payments? Or do i legitametly have to carry the balance for 6 months paying a little at a time and paying the high 25% interest for carrying the balance?
I want to graduate to the revolving credit account; but dont want to wait 6 months to pay off my freshstart account; how did you guys handle the freshstart account? Can I just make 6 equal payments over a week or 2 or am I stuck for 6-8months?
Please help me guys!
There's a (two year old) blog post about it here: http://blog.credit.com/2012/10/fingerhut-is-this-credit-building-program-a-good-deal-63073/
One of the bullet points a couple of paragraphs down says, "You pay off the balance in six or eight easy monthly payments. You may pay it off even faster, if you’d like!" So according to that, you can pay it early and graduate to the revolving credit account. I don't know that I would take that as the absolute gospel truth, though, as it's not directly from Fingerhut/WebBank. There is a comment section at the bottom; I took a quick glance through it and I didn't notice anyone disagreeing with that point.
One thing I did see is that some of the posters say it the card reports the credit bureaus right away and every month. If you're rebuilding credit, it might be worthwhile to take the six months and get six months of history. Of course, that would delay moving on to the revolving account.
I really like that advice thank you so much for your friendly help and advice!
I would call them directly to clarify.
I started off with their fresh start program in 2013. A worthwhile stepping stone for me. ![]()
Good luck. I really hope you do not pay on that over the course of six months. That is way too petty!

However, if you elect to pay your entire balance due at the same time as your down payment, then this willcancel your Loan and you may not be eligible to be considered for a WebBank/Fingerhut Credit Account.
