Re: Ford Motor Credit - Hard Pull

sorry to hear. i too went looking and as soon as the sales guy asked my birth date i said no way, i'm not interested in applying for credit today. if i do buy i will arrainge my own financing.

he said don't you want to take it home today if we can get you approved. i simply said nope, if i do buy it will be through one of my cu's.

he just waded up the app that only had my name on it and round filed it.

i knew if i gave him my info there would be tons of inq's from every lendor they ever dealt with.

Re: Ford Motor Credit - Hard Pull

You gave him your personal information?  Why?  Did he explain that it was an application?

Don't give your personal info to sales people!

I seriously doubt your fico scores will fall 100 points over an inquiry.

Re: Ford Motor Credit - Hard Pull

Could they have fallen that far because the dealer had several lenders pull your credit info?  I think this happened when I bought a car a few years ago.

They only count as 1.....or should.  I think something else is amiss here.

Yea, I gave him my personal information. I had to in order to finace the truck, but instead of it counting as one inquire it's now 3 more on my report.

That's the part that I am mad about, Cause I was trying to shape up my credit. The credit score for Transunion did not get affected it's the other 2.
  • Experian - It was a 682, now it drop to 620
  • Equifax - It was 670, now it drop to 642

You see how it did not drop a 100 points, But it still set me far backn I was really hoping to get to 750 in the next couple months. Now that's going to stay on my report for  7 years.

Re: Ford Motor Credit - Hard Pull

The 3 pulls will show up individually, but for scoring purposes the 3 pulls only count as one.

Did the loan report too? That could be why it dropped so much or.....possibly the 3 haven't been pulled as one yet....

Either way, this should be a temporary dip. You shouldn't lose more than 5 points or so if this is your only inquiry.

An inquiry will show up on you report for 2 years, but will only count against your score for 1 year.
Thank goodness they don't count for 7!

No, They did not report the loan because the way that we went about buying the TRCUK, is put it under my dad's name and have me as the co-signer. Well they deicided to run both of our credit to see who they can give the best deal to.
-Well the thing is with my low income the bank did not want me as the primary cause they are not sure that I could make the payments.
-If the loan did get reported it would run under my dad's name. Yeah sure, I am getting partial credit but it's not really helping me out. Its helping my dad out more cause he scored lower than I did.
