Format for gw letter

Is it best when writing a goodwill letter to hand write it or type it.

I've always typed mine. There are some creditors out there like CapOne, where writing out GWs would only cause permanent harm to your hand for writing out so many GWs. I figure you can't say the wrong things to the right OC/CA.
