Re: GW and PFD failed!!! Not happy!

Hi John, sorry about this issue.

The bad news is that some will, some won't delete.  It is getting harder and harder to do since the consumer is being made more aware of these tactics through forums like this.  That plus the changes in the AU score boost are direct results of too much good info.

That being said, I have had several collections that I forgot to include when I forgot to file BK, mostly small and although none were deleted, they immediately stopped reporting. One for a 62.00 insurance policy that I cancelled before I learned to get everything in writing but Progressive swaers I didn't.  Miraculously, some are no longer there though their 7.5 years wouldn't officiallly end til mid 2008.

I understand wanting them deleted but after two years they wont impact your score nearly as much. and remember they come off 7 days from the date of your last delinquency from the original creditor, not the collectors date.

GW

I would give them a call. Many CUs, despite being small and apparently more approachable than large banks, can be sticklers when it comes to GW and PFDs. They adhere to a policy of "If you made mistakes in the past, OK, just don't screw with us." Some know they can delete or update CRA reporting, but choose not to as a policy. Others might not be clued in. If you call, chances are good you'll be transfered to the person responsible for CRA reporting. They can likely tell you whether they don't delete as a policy.
