GW letter review...

Some info on this letter for you MyFicoans,  I was stupid...addicted to gambling...cleared it all up by 2003 but I don't want to wait another 2-3 years....the last 4 seem good enough to me.  I have TONS of lates 30 60 90 a couple 120s and one 150.  I paid it all back, no fee's waived.  Molly B was very helpful, we even established a report that she followed my account and each direct deposit she checked my account and moved the funds to pay the bills. I didn't press to get another account and now besides these 3 accounts, 7k car loan, 1800 CC and 200 LOC.  I have only 4 old nsf checks that were paid in 2001 and falling off later this year. and one collection for 117 from 2003 I am PFD'ing and waiting on a response.  I kept up a bit with her here and there but she still remembers me. And I got her email and she's a higher up now...  Any revisions on my letter that you might suggest?

To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing a letter about my experiences with Molly BXXXX that is a mixture of a grateful "thank-you" and a pressing request concerning a Visa Credit Card, an Auto Loan, and an overdraft Line of Credit, tradelines in my credit files that I would like to have revised.

I started the credit card and credit lines between 1997 and 2000, several years before I became addicted to gambling . Later when I fell deeper into a hole I was digging for myself and placing my priorities in irrational behaviors, I became disorganized with respect to, as you saw, making timely payments with all three accounts. I fully recognize my responsibility with respect to payable accounts and have worked diligently to rehabilitate my relationship with Bank since that time.

To be honest, without Molly's patience and encouragement I don't know how much worse it would have become.  That time in my life was a "wake-up" call for me regarding fiscal organization due in part by Molly's guidance and willingness to work with me. Since then I believe I have learned the essential organizational and financial management principles I desperately needed at that point to manage not just my personal life but help me with my career with XXXX Card Services. Thankfully, responsible credit management is now reflected in my credit records which -- excluding the aforementioned accounts -- are excellent. I wish to thank you for your patience, help and giving me a chance to fix my financial relationship with you and make it right by paying off my debts.

We are about to shop for a mortgage, and it has come to my attention that the late notations from these accounts may preclude me from taking full advantage of the very lowest interest rates now available even though it was some time ago that I damaged my credit history. Since those notations do not reflect my current status with Bank, I am requesting that you give me a second chance at a positive credit rating by revising those tradelines. A customer service representative suggested that I write you for a "goodwill adjustment." I sincerely hope that there is redemption at  Bank, and I beg you for such consideration. Please let me know if any additional documentation would assist in reaching a positive outcome, and I thank you again for the time you have spent reading this letter.

Very hopefully yours,

(and for those of you that caugh it.....yes I work for one of the credit card companies I read about every day on the credit card boards)
