I have an account that is showing 3 30 Day lates, and am sending this letter to NFCU. Would you all mind reading and posting your thoughts/comments? Thanks!

To Whom It May Concern,
I have been a Navy Federal Credit Union customer since 1999 and during that time I have enjoyed my experience with NFCU greatly. I am writing to see if you would be willing to make a goodwill adjustment to your reporting to the three credit bureaus. I have numerous late payments on the above referenced account that date back from the earliest on 01/05 to the latest on 09/08. Since 10/08, I have been an exceptional customer paying every month on time, and have never missed a payment on any of my other multiple NFCU accounts.
Because of my exceptional payment history with multiple accounts with NFCU over the last 10 Years, I would like you to consider removing the negative payments from my credit report. At the time of the late payments, there were various reasons for me being late, I was going through a separation from my marriage and this bill “fell though” on who was responsible to pay. With my address change I was not receiving the statements, and unfortunately my ex spouse did not forward them to me. I made the payment immediately after discovering it was late, and have since paid the account in full. I give these excuses not to justify why the payments were late, but rather to show that the late payments are not a good indicator of my actual credit history with NFCU. I hope that NFCU is willing to work with me on erasing these late marks from my credit reports.
I have been a very happy customer in the past and hope to continue a long relationship with Navy Federal Credit Union. With today’s credit industry so competitive, I know how important it is to maintain good relationships with customers. NFCU has been exceptional in my book so far and I highly recommend you to all my former Sailors, friends and relatives. I hope that you will consider my request and prove once again, why Navy Federal is heads above the rest. I look forward to your reply.
