Getting a call from creditors that I put a block on my account and I'm reporting Identity Theft

Strangest thing is happening. A bunch of creditors have been calling me to ask me about the block I put with the credit bureaus and I'm scratching my head like wth. what block? One creditor closed my account because of it and said I have to reapply if I want to get an account again. I never signed up for any credit repair guys or anything. I don't know what happening. I tried to called Transunion but they seemed just as confused and said they couldn't help.

It is common, if you ever make any assertion of account not mine, for the CRA to place a fraud alert on your credit file without having received any request for a fraud alert from you.

Have you seen any recent issues related to potential identity theft/account not mine?

No I haven't which is strange. I'm going to pull a myfico report to see what's going on
