You need to know DOFD, DOLA, and SOL for your state. Where did you pull your reports from? If you pull from www.annualcreditreport.com or directly from the CRA it will have the DOFD, DOLA. It may say......this account scheduled to reman until XX-XXXX or something like that.

Find SOL here -

For all the CC listed.......are only the OC reporting them?
After finding out DOFD, DOLA, and SOL.......post back and you can be better directed.

How old are the charge offs? You have a decent credit score especially with all of the baddies.

Re: HELP ! Where do I Start? Credit Repair

I am just browsing through this site. I don't have a credit problem. I never owned a credit card and don't plan on it. I don't believe in borrowing nor do I ever recommend it. I'm 29 years old and I have some few debts that I'm working on. I attend Financial Peace University and it's been such an eye opener for me. Growing up, my parenting did not educate me on finances or how to save. So as an adult I have to educate myself. I've come to realize that it's really our frame of thinking. Please check out this website: Daveramsey.com. He is changing lives around the world. It takes time, saving and discipline. Let's break this horrible cycle of Debt, and let's start planning for our future! God bless you!

Re: HELP ! Where do I Start? Credit Repair

If you are unsure about the amounts owed on these debts, and how they got so high, you could start with disputing as many of the items as you feel necessary. Dispute the amounts owed, and do a separate dispute for each credit bureau; some of the items may get deleted. Otherwise, since they are so old, you might just hold off and wait for them to drop off. The ones from 2002 should drop off next year. Sometimes, if the accounts are old enough (and close to getting dropped off) the credit bureaus may just delete them if you dispute it earlier.
