ONE bad payment account on my FICO. I'd have over a 720 right now, but I had a card that I got frusrated with trying to resolve with HSBC and for the first time and last time in my life I just gave up on it. It was charged off but they kept reporting it until sometime in late 2008 (!GEEZ!) so my FICO's screwed up. I'm working to get this resolved.
+ Actions taken:
- I tried BBB dispute when account was active, didn't do anything to resolve issue with fees, etc
- Submitted dispute to all three credit bureaus last week. However online posts indicate that HSBC will verify to kingdom come, so this might be a LONG fight to get something removed.
Recommendations? here are my ideas/questions?
- Anyone have success with a pay for delete settlement? Did you call the charge off group, or send in writing?
- Most indicate no results with GW letter, but perhaps someone just hasn't posted, anyone?
- Contact senior management throwing an uproar about previous situation that wasn't resolved and want this removed/deleted from credit immediately OR contact senior management about PFD? Balance was $2175 so I was guess to start at the 25% mark at approx $600 offer.
What do you think? Problem is I'm short on time so I'm trying to see what option seems the most feasible to get this off my credit (IF possible). Any tips on this?
Could you be a little more clear on what the dispute is?
This was an account that was CO'd, I got that part. But, I am not understanding what you are disputing.
What is the DOFD? Is this beyond SOL?
Dispute some late charges that were due to continuing to send in payments while the minimum payment was increasing due to payment posting a day or two late. I had it setup through autopay and as such snowballed into a bunch of fees. I tried to dispute and resolve and then payoff balance before charged off, but HSBC wouldn't budge a single bit, not even with BBB complaints, continual calls, etc.
It's 3 years old, BUT they kept reporting it until recently. I'm trying to find out the best "next step." If my CBR disputes don't work. I've been reading online that they will verify until kingdom come and GW letters are a waste of time with them...
tips?
Tracked down one of the CEO's via email, he forward message to Executive Resolution team. At least during this conversation, she was unwilling to budget anything. GW was zero. Pay for Delete not gonna happen. I told her this is ridicolous, other companies will but HSBC has a reputation for being strict and not budging. She claimed would put me in touch with the charge off department to discuss and "maybe" they could do something, not promising.
Geez. I really did everything with them, offered to settle if credit was cleared, GW, etc... HSBC is a bank i will avoid doing business with in the future. ONE single mark on my entire credit, 2nd card with them, and they won't work with me at all. I don't feel that disputes on CBR will get anywhere either, as they have a reputation for verifying to kingdom come.
had rant.
