Has anyone got this response to a GW letter?

Hi all,

I sent several GW letters a few weeks ago and I received a letter from the company who has our car loan today. It says: This letter is to inform you that our Member Solutions Department received your letter requesting we remove the delinquencies off of your credit report. I understand that you are currently in Iraq so please email me directly so we can further discuss this with you. My email address is XXXXX.

I was more expecting either a yes or no reply, but this is my first ever response to a GW letter and I just don't want to blow it. It's not a yes, but it sounds like maybe they are willing to help out? I was wondering if anyone has ever received a letter like this?

FYI, this particular account is my husband's... I'm just trying to clean up our credit while he is gone.

Anyway, it's not a yes, but at least it isn't a no right now and there is still a possibility they will do it. Please cross your fingers that they decide to delete the late pays. <sigh>

If anyone has any suggestions as to how I should reply, I'd love to hear them. :-)

I would have to look at it as a positive request. Most people if they are not going to grant your request for GW, will just ignore you altogether.

I would certainly send an email and see if they can help.

I sure hope so. Like I said, this is my first response and I guess I'm a little anxious about it. I will email her this evening and hopefully I will have another positive GW experience to post soon.

My DH is currently deployed, and I have had a few of his paid accounts deleted with a nice GW. Who knew even the CAs could have a heart... I agree that the outlook looks good...

I wanted to thank all of you for the encouraging responses. Of course I hope that all of my GW letters receive positive reponses, but there are a couple of accounts that I am particularly hopeful for, and this is one of them. I will let you know when I get an answer either way.

acissej323, I hope your husband is due to come home soon. We have about 3 more months until my DH is back home, but we're hoping the next few months go quickly. My kids have already started making their list of things to do with daddy and from the looks of their list, he is going to be a very busy man. :-)

My husband got back in September... hold steady. I found the last month and a half was the hardest because the end was in sight and I was SOOO ready to have another body in the parent equation!

Thanks ivy. I am definitely with you on the parenting part, but he is looking forward to it to. We're finally close enough that we are getting anxious for his return and starting to make plans for the summer.

Hi everyone. I just thought I would let you know that I e-mailed the company back last night as requested and I just got an email back from them. She said that management reviewed everything and that they are not willing to delete anything. Well.... I guess I just keep trying and hopefully we will have better luck with some of our other creditors.

hh......did they give a reason for their decision?

Irregardless, I would wait 30-60 days and GW them again. And repeat the process until satisfaction. Never give up.
