Hey everyone my name is long and im new to this forum/myfico, I trying to build up my credit right now so I signed up for the fico 3b Fico scores to start off with and it shows I have
Are you saying that you only have two accounts on your reports?
If so, when were these accounts opened? That's a different question from when you first saw them on your reports.
For the first six months after you opened your first account, you will have no FICO score. Paying $30 per month for the myFICO product is therefore a waste of your time. There are free tools you can use to look at your reports during that time.
Yes I only have 2 credit card accounts opened last month and begining of this month was the first month it reported to the credit breaus. Im added as a authorized user to my dads card but it says they arent calculated in the fico scores so those credit age (12 years) did not help much.
But I also have a collection from brighthouse network for a cable bill I slipped up on when moving around and not keeping up with the mail.
I would encourage you to cancel your myFICO membership for at least the next six months. In the meantime you can pull your reports for free. There are other things you can be doing while you wait:
* Getting familiar with how to read your reports at least once a month.
* Working on getting your collection removed.
* Using your cards for something small once a month, letting them report a positive balance, and then paying the balance in full.
* And after you have been doing that for a couple months, implementing the Share Secure Loan Technique.
When the six months have elapsed, and you have a true FICO score, you can decide whether you want the myFICO membership. THere are ways to get FICO scores for free or at almost no cost, so the $30/month membership you may decide is too expensive.
I got my scores from the dashboard page.
Ok thank you, Ill wait 6 months and cancel it for now.
It's hard to figure out for sure what is happening with the OP's situation, because we are getting bits of information gradually.
At one point he has said he only had two accounts on his reports, both opened last month. If so, then he couldn't have a FICO score. But then he indicated still later that he is an AU on a card (but doesn't indicate whether it appears on his reports or how its Date Opened reads on the report). So its actually possible that he has a third account.
So I had to make a lot of guesses, even after asking for more info.
Like medicgrrl I would guess now that the AU is appearing on the reports and that it has a Date Opened of over 6 months ago.
My other advice I think is still sound. I doubt our OP is being helped much by paying $360 a year for this service, and he might be better served doing things that cost him virtually nothing (but which reap him big rewards) . If he wants to explore low-cost options folks here can suggest those.
