Help me understand the AU process with Capital One/Others?

Hoping you veterans can explain a few things about being an "Authorized User".  Been scanning over the forums, and still a bit confused.  I have excellent credit, high 700's score (774), but lower than I would like Credit History Length (1 Yr, 4 Mos).  My mother suggested adding myself to her Capital One card (20+ years of history) as a Authorized User for a few months to bump up my score/history length.  My question is, If in a few months I remove myelf as a AU on her account, will that History/Credit Length be removed aswell?  Or will I retain that Credit length with the agencies?  I am not trying to get a home loan or anything, and have plenty of Credit Available ($40K+, 0%-1% Utilization).  Just trying to fast track that History Length a bit.  But/if when removed, it was like it never happened, I'm assuming not worth the trouble.  Thx, very much appreciated-

Not 100% on if it would remove from your credit report after you’re removed as an authorized user, but I can tell you from experience that regardless there is the very good possibility it can be removed regardless. Here is an example; my wife paid off her CapOne credit card in which I’m an authorized user on (mind you I’m still an authorized user, always have been & that has never changed). For some odd reason it never reported through TransUnion when it normally would, dragging my credit score down from my other reports due to the inaccuracy. NOW this is where it went all wrong, I disputed the balance and ultimately the entire history of that account was removed from my report because as an “authorized user”, as I was told, has no responsibility for that debt therefore it was removed. Mind you since I’m still an authorized user it will show right back up again as soon as capital one re-reports the next month. Went above and beyond and there is absolutely NO way to put that history back unless the creditor re-reports it. I hope this helps.

Moved to 'General Credit' for additional feedback on AU reporting.
