KK: gives me 780's CS: 765
Fico Through Chase/Discover give me 750's
When I purchased my Lexus 3 years ago I didn't ask, but was given a tier 1rate
As well, when pruchasing my condo (I don't remember what the score was) but was told credit is not an issue for lowest available rate.
So This weekend I leased an infinti. I had to sign a paper acknowledging credit or somethign that said I had a EQ 678. They told me a different score is used for auto, but my score is great (enouh to get me the lowest money factor/buy rate).
I did still get the car, and I did still get the lowest available terms through Nissan Motor Credit, however my question is, which score is real/which is fake?
Should I be worried? I've been workign hard to get my score over 700 (and now that it is) tryign to get it close to 800.
No scores are "fake" and all are "real."
All scores are drawn from a scoring model. The variable here is the scoring model, which you've determined yourself can vary greatly depending on the source.
I'd suggest replacing the words "real" and "fake" with "useful" and "unmeaningful." Your Chase/Discover provided scores are useful, as they're commonly used FICO scores using the FICO Classic 8 model. The scores you got from those free CMS sites are unmeaningful, as they're never going to be used by any major lenders. The auto score you were provided with is less common, but as you found is useful/meaningful when going after an auto loan. This would also be true of your mortgage scores when considering a home loan.
