Just wanted to say thanks for all the info here. I haven't posted much but have lurked the forums for longer than I've been a member, and really got my credit up from the bowels of the 300s to touching 700. 

And now, thanks to all those lessons learned, I'm helping out a younger friend of mine and my little brother! 

Personal finance should really be required learning material in school & college.

Good for you!  Nice sentiment to end the year on.

By the way, I am impressed by any kind of achievement.  Raising your credit score by well over 300 points is pretty amazing.  But there is also a purity and beauty to being able to score in the 300s.  That requires a different kind of dedication but one no less amazing.  Congrats on BOTH.
