How do I fix this?

oops.  Hit the enter button.  Here is my question:

I just signed up for the credit monitoring service through Chase Identity Protection.  So far, I like it.  (canceled TU and Equifax)

In the detailed summary of negatives about your credit it states:

You were late with your payments or were derogatory on at least one account in the past 12 months. This only includes accounts for which the payment history was reported.

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ HSBC BANK In chapter 13 bankruptcy Derogatory. Occurred in 01/2008.

01/2008

Ok, I was NOT late on this in the last 12 months because it was included in my bankruptcy in 2005.  All I did was UPDATE it on my credit report last January 08.   How do I get the 08 changed to derogatory in 05 which is the year I filed.  I can't seem to get anyone at TU to understand what I am asking or disputing.  Smiley Sad

This is from Equifax:

You were late by the most consecutive payments or became derogatory 1 month ago. This only includes accounts for which the payment history was reported.

What happened here is that I tried to dispute my student loans with Equifax which also were included in my chapter 13, filed in 2005.  I have 4 student loan accounts.  Equifax shows 3 of them as "revolving" and IIB and the 4th one as "installment" and "Pays as agreed"  so I disputed as all 4 included in IIB.  I did this because I am going to be discharged in Feb 09 and I want all four accounts to reflect "discharged" so that they fall off my report in 09 and 2010 because of the DOFD.

  US DEPT ED   REVOLVING

US DEPT ED   INSTALLMENT

Should I be concerned that Equifax as this as revolving instead of installment and that the installment one shows as "positive"  and the "revolving" ones are the wage earner plan and negative.

Is this also hurting my utilization?

thanks

PS this monitoring service seems to explain a lot more than the others.  Smiley Happy

Re: How do I fix this?

IMO, ignore the details from the CMS. I've used TC, CCT, Nat City's ID Protect, and others and none of them have reported 100% correct. Try pulling directly from each CRA to look for the details and then respond from there. Plus ignore the advice, as it is waaaaay off from the realities of FICO. To check your utilization, pull your EQ FICO report. On page 2 or 3, you'll find (possibly) a utilization figure by which you can ascertain as to whether the SL is included or not.
