Hello everyone,
I've been out of the credit game for a minute and I'm just now starting to get my groove back. I live in Paris and when applying for credit I always run into problems because I don't have a US phone number for verification purposes. I've been using my mother's number as a work around but that has caused even more problems. Does anyone know where I can get a cheap US number that has a call forwarding option to an international number?
Have you tried Google Voice? I don't know if that would work for verification purposes.

Many "Sip" / Internet packet based phone service providers.
Callcentric.com
Cost about $2 a month plus 1.5c a minute.
Load funds, calls subtracted by length of time (minutes) from account balance.
I used a MagicJack for years. You can order it online and have a US number that you can answer and make calls from anywhere in the world with an internet connection. Just use your mothers address for location most used and it'll offer a number from that area.
Google Voice works with many credit card companies but more and more they are shooting down Google Voice and any other number that is tied to IP telephony. I ran into problems with both Synchrony and Capital One when using my Google Voice number for verification and I've had it since 2007/2008 when it was still Grand Central.
Why not just have your Mother get a cellphone from a US carrier in your name using her locale?
I can't advise what to use, but make sure whatever option you choose can receive and send text messages.
