How do I get bureaus to update?

I pulled my report this am to find bad news.  My score has dropped since I last pulled it.  I noticed that the revolving balances on some accounts were not recent.  How do I request that the bureaus pull the latest numbers?

Re: How do I get bureaus to update?

The bureaus report what your creditors report to them. If you use a service like true credit or national city or chase, you can click on the details for each of your trade lines and see the exact date that your creditors update to them. For instance on mine I have an account that shows a report date of 9/2/07 on TU and EX but 9/1/07 on EQ. This means whatever my balance is with this creditor on the 2nd of the month is what will be reported to all 3 CRAs. EQ always shows the first of the month as they seem to be setup only to report the month and year where TU and EX show the exact date. This helps you realize when you should make your payments so that they will post on your account before your creditors report to the CRAs.

It took me a while to get used to this. But you will get the hang of it. I can tell you this much, the date they report is not always the day your payment is due. Sometimes it's before and sometimes it's after.

Thanks, that is helpful.  Do I need a TrueCredit account in addition to my myfico?  Not sure what the difference is exactly.

Re: How do I get bureaus to update?

Well what I do is track my CRs through National City every day and when I see something that I was waiting on....a CA being removed or payment posted etc....then I will buy my score here to see what that item really netted me. It's a great tool to see what is happening daily to your reports, especially if you are in repair mode.

TC/NC/Chase will only give you a FAKO score and for me my FICOs are much higher than my FAKOs. BUT it will still help you if you notice a trend of your FAKOs going higher or lower, your FICOs should be trending the same way.
