How is cap1 checking/savings treating their customers? (wrong forum maybe, but where else?)

I am rather upset with Wachovia at this point. I have been seriously thinking about pulling the trigger again with BOA and opening checking there. I got a flyer from cap1 today, does anyone have any imput on cap1 for checking/savings?

I had a checking with Hibernia which was bought out by Cap 1. The service was fine and the website is really easy to use. Chase sent a flyer for $150 for new accounts, which I bit on and moved my accounts over to them.

Bank of America will offer promo's for new accounts too. I found this for $75 for new accounts:

You're in the right spot!

What's wrong with Wachovia? Is it the WF deal?...hmmm Wachovia Wells Fargo...the new WWF.

About 10 yrs ago, I was caught up in several bank mergers. I had First Union, right at the deal with Wachovia, and ran across the street to Nationsbank in disgust only to learn it became a BofA. I also had accounts at a small bank only to see it change names 2 times in the past 10.

I made a decision to spread my accounts across several banks, even if it mean only having $5 in each. I figure if I got disgusted with one, I could easy transfer to the other without any problem. It was funny, DW and I did some estate planning at the start of the year and we had a combined 7 checking accts open and 3 savings split across 6 banks. Our attorney asked us if we were getting a divorce!

CapOne? Don't know anything. I do know they are gobbling up other banks at a very fast rate. I can only imagine their cash flow is shorter and future higher fees are a real possibility.
