How long does a creditor have to respond to your dispute?

I have read in these forums that it can take up to 30-45 days but my fiancee works for a bank and is adamant when she tells me that it is up to 10 days. She has even shown me dispute forms from this bank that say 10 days. I thought it was a company policy but she says that it isn't and that they are going by various CRA rules. So does anyone know what's going on here? Thanks

If you are talking about a dispute that you filed with the CRA..........the CRA has 30 days, sometimes 45 days.

The 10 day rule may be something between the CRA and the bank.

There are no legal time limits set for creditors (OC or CA) to respond, on the federal level anyway.

Re: How long does a creditor have to respond to your dispute?

Her 10 days is likely a Company policy-

This is VERY true if they do not get disputes electronically-
The CRA's literally mail the Dispute out, must be answered and returned to the CRA-
