How long does it take to receive a letter from a credit card company

Checked my credit report about a week ago; and saw an inquiry where it says from MetaBank/Indigo CCC. Called 2 days after I saw it; was told that I applied for CC on May 29th. I never applied and was told to wait until the letter come in the mail to know more information. Question is if someone used my ssn and name and used an different address, should I call them back to ask them that? If I did it, I probably don't recalled, but I'm sure I didn't because I definitely do not want anymore credit cards or anything that has anything to do with credit while I'm trying to pay off what I owe. What should I do?

Where did you get your CR from? If directly from the CRA, then look through the demographics section to see if there are any names not associated with yours, including addresses, DOB, SSN, employer, etc. On EX, I believe, you can actually link back the inquiry via their demographic code to get more info.

If I knew I didn't apply, aside from pulling the report, I would place a fraud alert on my CRs and file a police report. I would then call them back to make sure the card wasn't issued and would dispute the inquiry to get that removed.
