How much time for replies?

I have a couple of questions about reply times. Since my Ch. 7 BK was discharged in 10/98, I've been trying like heck to do better. I think I've done pretty good (9/07 FICO scores: 719,706,735) I have only one baddies on my CR since the BK - a "30 day" late payment to a Cap 1 CC (the payment was made within the 30 days and all is up to date) in 2003. I've just mailed a GW letter to Cap 1 so we'll see what happens. Do creditors actually (or have to) reply to my request, or do I just recheck my FICOs in a month or 2 and see what happens? Also, I noticed a false previous address on my EQ report only. Never even had been to the address/town listed, and don't know anyone there either. I don't have any incorrect or not-mine accounts on the report, so all is good there. I mailed a letter to EQ about 3 weeks ago asking them to remove it or investigate it. Do they have to, or will they, reply about the status of the address, and should they remove it as requested, or was that something not to worry about? Thanks!

you never know if they will answer GW letter. I did get a letter with ok from cap1. It took about 3-4 weeks.

I disputed online for incorrect name and address with no trouble. Others have needed to send 3 types of ID in order to get it changed.

Thanks, HD. I guess I'll wait and see what happens. I'll check things before the end of the year if I haven't heard anything in a couple of months.
