Hi Jigga,
I would reccomend starting with the Frequently Request Threads, especially Credit Scoring 101. Once you've read over those, maybe you could post some more information about your credit profile. How many accounts do you have? What types? What are the balances? What negative information do you have on your credit report?
Once we have that information, we can give you some specific advice about what steps you might take to improve your score.
To answer your other question, sometimes adding CCs to your profile can improve your score. If you do this, it is highly reccomended to make a small purchase each month, then pay it off in full so you do not pay any interest, but you still show usage on the card.
Good luck!
