How to count the days...

If a payment was due 02/01/2007 and was paid (late) on 03/02/2007.  Was the payment 30 days late?  How do you count?  (NOTE:  February has 28 days).

if the payment was due  1/1/2008 and was paid 1/2/2008  it is late!  The 30 day lates that are showned on our CR are  1-30 days late

Re: How to count the days...

My WF is due on the 25th and if I pay on the 1st the following month they consider it 30 days late.  The consider it late if you go pass the due date.  Due 07/25/2007 paid 08/01/2007 they reported it as 30 days late.  I disputed and they verified it as correct.  However, I am not for sure but I am closing on home mortagage in a week or so and this was reporting.  I provided the bank with copies of my checks showing where I had paid just a week late and they said that they did not think they could do that (got this information yesterday).  I sent an email to them asking about this and I got the standard message that they will respond in 24-48 hours, but have not heard anything as of yet.  I will keep you posted on what I find out from their reply.  I think my definition of "30-days late" is different from credits definition of "30-days late".

Ausfarm, do you by some miracle have a copy of the terms and conditions on this account? If so, check to see what they say. You can also try looking online for the T&C's, but I don't know if generally-published ones like that would be the same as what you have for your own account.

I've seen everything counted as 30-days: 1 day after the due date, 30 days after the statement date, 30 days after the due date, you name it. The rules are what they say they are... Smiley Tongue

Re: How to count the days...

I"m sure I have or can get a copy of the T&C.  It's actually a loan.  So, I'd have to find the note.  I assumed 30 days late was 30 days or MORE late.  Not, 1-30 days late.  Oh well.  At least this particular lender is only reporting on one of my credit reports.
