How to delete incorrect information?

Some of my reports contain as many as 15 addresses dating back to my bankruptcy in 2008. What is the proper way to go about removing all of these obsolete addresses? I've read that as long as a creditor reports an address, they will just keep coming back. All of my creditors (and CAs) send mail to my current address, so I'm assuming that's what they report for me.

 

Some of my reports also contain as many as 5 aliases for me; misspellings of my name to be precise. I've never used any such alias, and my data entry skills are nearly impeccable. How do I go about removing all of these ridiculous aliases I've never used?

 

Also, some of my reports also contain as many as 5 past employers. I'm self employed and I've reorganized and restructured my companies over the years. No current or past creditor or CA should have access to certain names listed as I've never used them on any application for credit, utilities, or otherwise. How do I go about removing all of these inaccurate employer names?

I don't think you can get rid of previous addresses & previous employers. But if you have a service with the CA you could try a dispute and see if they'll remove them. I've lived at the same address since 2005 when I bought it, and I have CRs still listing old addresses from 20 years, and dprevious employers from almost as long back.

 

Only 1 CR, Experian, has to "aliases" for me. One lists my full middle name instead of just the initial I use. I figure that's fine since Social Seccurity uses my full middle name. But there's also a misspelling of my last name, it must be from an old handwritten credit app, my hand writing is terrbile. I've been meaning to dispute that and see if they'll remove it.

I've seen the same thing on mine, misspelling of my last name. I don't know if that is a negative/cause for concern or not?

The past Employee thing is a baseline for dependability for Employment, sinc ethey check you CR these days. The address is another stability thing, to make sure your not constantly on the move

I've had wrong names and wrong address removed. I wrote to the agencies and they were removed. BUT, those same names and addresses do pop up sometimes on a name/address search site. Give it a try.

What type of letter did you write? Did you just ask to have them removed?

Sent the pages from my CR that contained info I was disputing. Wrote the highlighted info was wrong and it must be removed. It was.

Thanks for the reply. Is it true that doing something like this can trigger fraud alerts? I've read around that disputes can lead to fraud alerts which is really bad, right?
