How to handle collections on credit report that have been paid?

As of today Equifax says I have an unpaid collection, TransUnion says status unknown, and Experian doesn't have it listed at all. I already paid this bill to the College that it was from months ago, not the collection agency. Can I get this taken off my credit history somehow? Should I dispute it with Equifax/TransUnion, with the College?

try to call the college first and make sure you have a proof that it is paid. The college would more than likely have to call the ca to have the status changed.

Yes check with the college to see what is going on first if you had paid them directly.

Did you get anything in the mail regarding the CA activity? When, if so?

Are the dates showing on that CA TL before you paid the college?

Yes you can get this removed, but the reason as to why it is even there will determine how to get it done quickly and properly.
