Hello. I need help resolving a credit issue. I recently checked my credit report and discovered a joint overdraft account which I did not apply for. I contacted the bank and was told that I applied for the account at a branch. I went in to the branch and they have no record of this. I was then told that I applied online. Finally, I was told that "I was present when my spouse applied for this account" over the phone. The bank agreed to unattach this overdraft account from our joint account and attach it to my spouse seperate checking account but insist that I am responsible for the debt. I disputed the account at Experian but feel I need to take additional steps to handle this matter. Thanks for your help.
