My advice is to DV them and then after you get your green card back dispute the entries with all the CRAs that are reporting them. Palisades does not seem to respond and they will probably be removed. This is no guarantee that they won't come back as these scumbags don't seem to follow the law very well. I'm ready to sue over three BS entries on TU and 2 on EQ and EX. I meet with my lawyer in 3 days.....

I just contacted one of the companies today. All they wanted to do was argue and say they were going to sue for fraud since I received the goods and services.  Can a CA sue? They did verify that the last date of activity was June 30, 2001.

yes a ca can sue.
doesn't mean they will though.
although i thought they couldn't threaten it without th eintent to actually do so?

never talk to a ca.

someone else can give you more advice, i haven't had any experience in this dept.

OMG  I didn't know it was Palisades.....I am in touch with a lawyer about them now. DV them CMRRR...check & see if they need & are licensed in your state!

Never TALK to them on the phone...THEY WILL CALL...In your DV  tell them *do not call*!!!! If they call hang up!!   everything in writing....do you know if what they are collecting for is over 7 years?????

I have no idea what they are trying to collect from me.

1st off if DOFD is 6-30-01 dispute the TL with the CRA as too old to report. As far as being sued.....yes you can be sued even if the SOL has expired. Of course your defense is that the SOL expired and they won't win. These places sue in hopes you don't show up so they can get a default judgement on you.

I suggest you send the DV. State in the DV to ONLY contact you by mail. Dispute the TL with the CRAs as too old and this should be enough to get it off your reports.

If they sue, SHOW UP IN COURT TO FIGHT or at least get a lawyer from naca.net to represent you! If they call you or commit any other violations, counter sue for violations of the FCRA.

Don't be timid and don't talk to them on the phone unless you like the feeling of bashing your head into a wall covered with glass shards.

they CAN NOT sue after 6 years (your SOL) They can try BUT your defence will be past SOL. You will need copy of CR or something to show DOFD or DOFA
